Week 18 — “Root”

Happy Sunday, friends!

How was your time on the yellow brick road? Did you find everything you needed, and maybe some things you didn't even know you were looking for?

We hope so.

Before we move into this week's thoughts we have two quick things to draw your attention to!

  • At the end of this month, some of our Pilates People are taking some very deserved time away, which means there will be a few class substitutions! Please click here for all the updates.

  • We're hosting our "Chakras and Psychology" workshop with Emily Jo later TODAY from 4-6pm (EST). It's just $25 for a close look into these energy centers, ourselves, the world and how it all relates. Join us, won't you? Sign up here

In case you're new here, or maybe you aren't new but you missed it, we're all about supporting the people who inspire us (and mostly, that's our friends) - it's kind of our thing. We love to allow ourselves the space and permission to grow and change in response to what they bring to the table.

And so, welcome to our next 7 weeks together - inspired by Emily Jo and the work she's doing (for a deeper level of understanding walking into this next month and a half, we HIGHLY suggest today's workshop!).

We're going into the chakras, friends, and we are SO EXCITED about the ride we're about to take!

If you're walking into this with prior knowledge, AMAZING! Tap into what you've got and use it as we keep exploring together. And if you're not, no sweat! This is still for and about you, we promise.

In talking to Jenni about our theme this week a few days ago, the voice of a past mentor popped into my head screaming -
"WHO ARE YOU?"

He used to run after me as I twirled and leapt across the dance floor, starting first by yelling my name followed by the iconic -
"WHO ARE YOU?"

I started giggling as I recounted the experience to Jenni, remembering the day that I screamed back -
"I DON'T KNOW!"
mid-spin.

And as I'm thinking on it more, I'm realizing we may have arrived at the root of my Root chakra imbalance...

Who am I?
Well, I don't know...
yet.

But I'm going to keep moving and exploring and learning until I do.
Hopefully, I don't stop that journey until the day I die.

Let's start from the ground up, exploring our Root(s) this week -
our pelvic bowls,
our physical identities,
and our right to be here.

The color is red.
The element is Earth.
And the feeling is deep.

How low can you go, friends? Let's plant those roots DOWN in the ground and build from there.

We're here with you. Thank you for being here with us too.

All our love,
Cassandra + Pilates People
