Laura Guley
Hey humans! I’m Laura. I’m from Jupiter, Florida, and Pilates has been helping me kick serious butt (while also kicking mine) for a while now. I’m an actor by trade, receiving my BFA in Musical Theater from Penn State, but I’ve been a dancer for as long as I can remember. Pilates and I met one summer's eve over 10 years ago when this ambitious ballerina was feeling excessive back and hip pain, but most importantly to my 13-year old self, struggling to nail that triple pirouette.
Enter: Pilates
After my first few sessions, I immediately noticed how easier it was to balance, stretch and, obviously, nail that triple, but what surprised me was how much happier and confident I felt in my day to day life. Immediately, I knew that Pilates was a gift that I needed to study and share. During my time off in college, I received a comprehensive certification from Lolita’s Legacy, a program developed by Lolita San Miguel, the last remaining disciple of Joseph Pilates.
I believe every thought, breath and movement can be initiated from your center, and in my classes I focus on strengthening that bond between body and mind to bring joy, connection and openness to every moment.
