Week 16 — “Be You”

”Nobody can do everything, but everyone can do something.”

Hello Pilates People!

Happy Sunday!!

What are you good at?

Did that feel like an overwhelming question straight out of the blue that you SO weren't ready for?

Okay. Apologies.

But. Also.

What are you good at?
And why is it so uncomfortable when someone asks?

Maybe it isn't for you, in which case, CONGRATULATIONS!! You automatically win this week because we're still in the land of no rules and I get to periodically declare completely random victories because...no rules.

But seriously...why is it so awkward to say what we're good at?

Let's all win this week together (based off of my completely arbitrary rules) and celebrate the things that make each of us who and what we are!

Because, here's the reality...none of us can be everything, which is actually such GOOD NEWS! Because, if you were already everything, why would you need other people at all? Us included.

Not only do the things you specifically bring to the table help to uplift and enrich the lives of everyone around you, but they also leave space for the other people in your life to be who they are and offer what they can - which is such a beautiful thing.

We gave our instructors a little homework this week (and we're going to give it to you to by the end of this, so brace yourselves) - we asked them to describe and celebrate what it's like to take class with them and why that's amazing in three words. Here's what we got back:

  • Sean - Rigorous, Humorous, Sincere

  • Grace - Structure, Opposition, Breath (those are the things I try to keep in mind for all of my classes!)

  • Javi - Energizing, Caring, Playful

  • Xander - Focused, Inclusive, Chill Vibes

  • Jenni - Conceptual, Light, Sneaky-hard (like maybe you won't notice how hard it is until it's over and you're like, "What just happened?")

  • Cassandra - Free-spirited, Dynamic, Candid

And together, we create Pilates People - a fun, friendly, accessible community of movers connecting bodies by sharing space and time together.

We're not trying to teach you how to draw, or sing, or perform heart surgery.
That's not who we are or what we do, and we're okay with that.

We're here to celebrate movement, to inspire you to take some time for yourselves and to cheer you on through your own personal journey.

That's what we do.

And the really, really amazing part? We all do it in our own unique ways.

So, we want to ask you - what are the three words that best celebrate you and what you do?

Go ahead - send them to us! We'd love to make a list of all the amazing things that make this community what it is! (don't worry, we'll keep names out of it)

Let us celebrate YOU! By next week, we're hoping to have a LONG list of AMAZING things to share!

Take the time, friends. You're a star and deserve a moment to personally recognize and share what it is that makes you SHINE!

All our love, always,
Cassandra + Pilates People

P.S. - Just ONE Announcement this week (WHAT?!). It's an important one though!! Javi is joining our permanent LIVE class schedule!!! You can find him Mondays and Wednesdays at 12pm (EST)!!! So, I'm not going to tell you what to do, but...GO SIGN UP!! NOW!Hello Pilates People!
